Feel Good Fitness

Hi Guys!! This Blog is going to be all about keeping fit, having a clear mind and getting motivated!!
Personal Journey
I have always been 'reasonable' fit and active but about three years ago I started personal training with the one and only 'Kenny Picken' everyone should get searching and have a look on his Facebook page 'KP Training Systems'. So yeah I started training with Kenny around three years ago and I stay pretty consistent MOST of the time haha. And what I can say is that its that time of the year again when every girl wants the perfect summer body and is hitting the gym hard, I love to see others make progress and see all their hard work paying off. I am a member of Lifestyle fitness in Kilmarnock and love to take part in the classes, not only is the gym a place to keep healthy and fit but I have also met some great friends especially this year in 2016. I do also like to run last year in 2015 I completed my first 10k in just under one hour to raise money to charities like Cancer Research and Yorkhill Hospital.
Girls Don't Lift?
I used to think so, but I was S0 wrong. When I started my PT I could barely lift a kettle bell and couldn't understand how lifting weights could possibly make you leaner, I always assumed I would just end up with big muscles and look ridiculous (I am sure many girls feel this way) I then started to use the bar in the area I called (the guys gym) to do squats, deadlifts and bench pressing and before I new it I was hooked on weight training. I started to see results and every week I got stronger and stronger. I soon learned that this type of training is essential wither you are trying to loose weight and get leaner or just to tone up in general. As time went by and my strength got better my personal best is now 120kg deadlift. This may not seem like anything to many people but for those who train will understand this is a great achievement. I definitely recommend a PT to guide you through this particular type of training, mostly to avoid any unnecessary injuries. I now have my personal training in wossobama martial art gym in Kilmarnock, the place is crazy with loads of fun and carry on going on all the time. There is classes for ages here as well, everyone check them out online
All about the Protein
DIET DIET DIET this always seems to be a problem AHH? another thing I have learned over the years....
  1. Crash Diets, Don't Work
  2. Feed Your Muscles To See Results
  3. You Should Not Always Be Hard On Yourself
  4. Protein is KEY
  5. Track Your Food And See Results
So I bet everyone read number three and thought what the hell right? but this is so true I used to think oh my I had a take away on Saturday Night my diets out the window, or I went out with the girls at the weekend and drank too much wine I've completely ruined it now. We have all been there?? especially me. As I spoke about in my previous blogs I am a bit of a drama queen and Kenny sure knows this haha!! I have had several meltdowns over the years to which he would reply 'this is good Louise'!!
So I'm like good? Ahh how is this good??
I now understand this all so much better and have learned that by having a few low calorie days can allow for a wild weekend or a big night in with the girls and loads of junk food. I have learned that my hard work isn't ruined by one or two bad days and I now feel this only motivates me more and more to work hard and see results!! Everyone is different but everyone is beautiful and I sure do believe exercise and fitness helps clear the mind making everyone HAPPY!!! Set yourself goals and work hard to achieve them!!!
I hope you all enjoyed reading this!!!!
